Planning a Ceremony

Planning your wedding is very important to me so the first step is meeting me.  I believe it is important for you to feel comfortable with me as a person before you invite me to officiate your wedding. We’ll spend a little time getting to know each other.

Once you feel comfortable and are ready to move forward with me officiating your wedding, we’ll  go through some sample ceremonies. I like to involve you in the planning part of your special day as much as you want to be. I’ll provide you with materials that you’ll take home to choose your readings, vows (or you can write your own), and  other parts of the ceremony .

About a month before the ceremony, we’ll meet a second time to go over your choices and finalize the ceremony. At the end of the second meeting, I’ll give you a  draft of the ceremony.  If any changes are to be made, just let me know.

On the day of the wedding, I’ll arrive about 30 minutes prior to the ceremony and we’ll go through a brief rehearsal.  If prior to this we jointly determine that a brief rehearsal  is not sufficient, we’ll make other arrangements to rehearse prior to your wedding day.

Fees– My fee is dependent on a number of things, such as date and location of ceremony, amount of time necessary to plan the ceremony, or the need for a rehearsal prior to the day of the wedding. A  $100 deposit is required to secure your wedding date once you invite me to officiate your ceremony. The balance of the fee along with the New York Sate marriage license is due the week of the ceremony. I’ll take care of filing the license for you the first business day after the wedding.

Below is a video interview of me produced by LIWeddings.com, Your Community Wedding Resource.  The video will further introduce you to my services.
