T he first thing that occurs is a meeting between Pastor Mike and the couple. Pastor Mike believes it is important for you to feel comfortable with him as a person before you invite him to officiate your ceremony. So at the first meeting you'll spend a little time getting to know each other and then Pastor Mike will go through a sample of ceremonies. Pastor Mike likes to involve the couple as much as they want to be involved in planning the ceremony. The couple will select their readings, vows, and additional items to be used as part of the ceremony from materials provided by Pastor Mike. Once the couple invites Pastor Mike to perform the ceremony, they begin the serious planning of the ceremony. The couple will take material provided by Pastor Mike home and on their own will make the choices concerning the readings, vows, and other items. About a month before the ceremony, the couple meets with Pastor Mike a second time to go over their choices and finalize the ceremony. At the end of the second meeting, the couple will be given a first draft of the ceremony. If any changes are to be made, the couple is to contact Pastor Mike. Pastor Mike arrives at the ceremony location about 30 minutes prior to the ceremony. At that time a brief rehearsal takes places. If Pastor Mike and the couple jointly determine that this is not sufficient, then other arrangements can be made. Fees- Pastor Mike's fee is dependent on a number of items, such as date and location of ceremony, amount of time necessary to plan the ceremony, or the need for a rehearsal prior to the day of the rehearsal. A $100 deposit is required to secure the date once the couple makes the decision to have Pastor Mike perform the ceremony. The balance of the fee along with the New York Sate marriage license is due the week of the ceremony. Pastor Mike takes care of filing the license the first business day after the wedding.
